The short answer
A One Piece promo card is a card given out outside standard boosters: as rewards at tournaments and store events, in special products, or with certain magazines in Japan. It has the P rarity, and many also exist as parallels. Most are worth little, but some tournament rewards, given out in very small numbers, are among the most valuable cards in the game.
What is a promo card?
A promo is a card you don't open in a standard booster: you get it with a product, at an event, as a reward or as a gift.
A One Piece promo has the P rarity and a promo code (P-001…) instead of a set code. In gotem., they have the "Promo" or "Parallel Promo" rarity.
How you get them
- At store tournaments and events: participation cards and rewards.
- At major official tournaments, for the top-ranked players.
- In special products: boxes, decks, collections like One Piece Card the Best.
- With certain magazines and at events in Japan.
