The short answer
A One Piece card is worth what buyers pay for the same copy: same card, same language, same version, same condition. In Europe, the reference is Cardmarket, the biggest marketplace for single cards.
gotem. takes the lowest price read on Cardmarket in the card's language when it's under 30 days old, otherwise today's Cardmarket trend, held back so it can't run away, then adjusts it to your copy's condition.
To find yours: search for it or scan it on gotem., then pick its language and condition.
What makes a card's price
- The market
- A card's price is what it actually sells for, not what listings ask. On Cardmarket, two figures matter: the trend, calculated from recent sales, and the lowest price, the cheapest current offer for a given language and condition.
- Condition
- A Near Mint (almost new) card is worth the reference price; the more worn it is, the less it's worth. Cardmarket's scale runs from Mint to Poor.
- Language
- Each language has its own market: a French, English or Japanese card doesn't have the same price, sometimes three times as much. Always compare in the same language.
- The version
- Regular, parallel, manga, SP: each version has its own price, often very different.
- Grading
- A graded card (PSA, CGC, PCA…) sells according to the company and grade: a 10 can be worth several times the raw card's price, a 7 sometimes less. gotem. gives the raw card's price; for a graded one, look at sales from the same company and grade.
- Demand
- The character, the artwork, the rarity, the set's age, tournament play, a reprint: anything that changes demand changes the price.
How gotem. works out the price
- 1Every night, gotem. fetches Cardmarket's public price guide: for each card, its trend, its 7 and 30-day averages and its cheapest offer.
- 2If the card's lowest price was read on Cardmarket in the last 30 days, in its language and in Near Mint (or Mint), that's the price: it's what the card really costs today, in its language.
- 3Otherwise, it's the Cardmarket trend, held back so it can't run away: it can't go above the middle figure of the trend, the 7-day average and the 30-day average. If it drops, gotem. follows the drop, but not below 40% of that figure; a trend under a fifth of that figure is an error, and the lower of the two averages counts instead.
- 4A card with no trend (rarely sold, brand new) takes its holo version's trend, otherwise the cheapest current offer, otherwise a price found elsewhere (TCGplayer, or the same card in another language): gotem. treats that as a less reliable estimate.
- 5eBay sales and Vinted listings found for the card are shown on its page, but don't count towards its price.
- 6Each card's price is recorded every day: its page shows the curve.
Your copy: its condition and version
- A lowest price read for your copy's condition and language in the last 30 days is used as is. Otherwise, the closest reading (same language first, then the nearest condition) is brought to your condition with the scale below.
- With no reading at all, the card's Near Mint price is multiplied by its condition's share.
- A version with its own product on Cardmarket takes that product's price.
- You can also set your own price on a copy: up to the market price + 20%, with no limit for a graded card.
| Condition | Cardmarket code | Share of Near Mint price |
|---|---|---|
| Mint | MT | 100 % |
| Near Mint | NM | 100 % |
| Excellent | EX | 90 % |
| Good | GD | 80 % |
| Light Played | LP | 70 % |
| Played | PL | 55 % |
| Poor | PO | 40 % |
This scale is gotem.'s, an average, not a market rule. For an expensive card, the exact condition matters most: look at offers in the same condition.

Traps to avoid
- Taking a listing's price for the card's price: a listing is what the seller hopes for, not what they get.
- Comparing different languages or versions.
- Forgetting condition: a Played card isn't priced like a Near Mint one.
- Thinking a shiny card must be expensive: many are worth a few euros.
- Confusing the raw card's price with the graded card's.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find out what a One Piece card is worth?
Search for it on gotem., or scan it with a free account: its market price shows up, by language and condition.
Where do gotem.'s prices come from?
From Cardmarket: the lowest price read in the card's language in the last 30 days, otherwise the trend from its price guide, held back so it can't run away. Updated every day.
Is the price shown what I'll sell it for?
It's the current market price, adjusted to your copy's condition. The final price depends on the real condition, the buyer and the platform (fees, shipping).
Why does the price change from one day to the next?
Because sales change: gotem. reads prices every day. A card that rarely sells moves more; gotem. keeps its trend from jumping around.
How much does a damaged card lose?
With no price read for its condition, gotem. counts an Excellent card at 90% of the Near Mint price, Good at 80%, Light Played at 70%, Played at 55% and Poor at 40%.
How much is a graded card worth?
It depends on the company and the grade: look at recent sales of the same card, same company, same grade. gotem. gives the raw card's price and files your graded cards with their grade.
Are prices in euros?
Yes, in euros by default, and in US dollars, pounds, Swiss francs or Canadian dollars at today's rate (Settings → Currency).
